After being away for far too long, I figured I would try and appease you with a food post. I can only hope it works. This entire period, I have been on a seafood diet. You’ve probably heard this one before but I have lived it for the past few months. I see food and I eat it and boy! Don’t you dare finish the last of anything in the house. World War III in the offing.

It all started with this deep desire to bake. I had never baked before in my life. Thanks to Google and my very own guinea pig (let’s not tell The Mister I called him that), I have been feeling very Alice Taabu-ish lately. So here is what I have been up to on my seafood diet. Continue reading
The sun is peeking through the clouds. The cows mooing incessantly. The turkey poults have started gathering at the door for their daily scoop of grains. It’s a beautiful day, a stark contrast to the day’s programme. I take a shower and dress up fast.
We drive down Ngong Road. My aunt is chatting up her friend in the back seat. I fall into my thoughts. Last I saw Julia, I had just come from the main service at CITAM Ngong, church on the hill. Continue reading
I have been a tad too quiet. Studies have taken over my life. I am not complaining though… Totally worth my while.
Every once in a while, you read something that stops you in your tracks and has you thinking. This article was it for me. I read it over a month back and have been meaning to share it with you. Continue reading
Congratulations! You, my friend, made it past January. As we turn to page 32/365, all I can think of is how most things, if not everything, in life are a two-way relationship. It is always a compromise and a sacrifice. Of time, money, etcetera. However, that is not quite the case always.

You give a little each day, a little more the other day, and a little more the day after that. You get nothing in return. Zero. Nada. Zilch. It could be a circumstance that makes you feel drained, an unrequited relationship, an unsuccessful partnership… yes, all those ships. Life is too short for bad vibes people! 🙂 Continue reading
The 40th weekend of Njaanuary. A warm, sunny Saturday. A perfect day for a DIY.
I got this gratitude jar idea from my very good friend (I know, I know. I’m starting to sound like I am making up all these “my friends” stories). I went ahead and bought my mason jar in preparation for this challenge.
GIYF. For real! Google is certainly your friend. I came across these beautiful jars and I was like ‘boring gratitude jar for who’?
I can picture Michelangelo laughing. Yes, laughing at me.
My friend had the opportunity to see Michelangelo’s 14 ft marble masterpiece depicting the Biblical hero, David. Let’s just say, we’ll never hear the end of it. 😀 But really, from the pictures, and all the tales from her trip to Italy, that fellow’s work was spectacular! Continue reading
It is here with us. I hope you bye-Feliciad 2014 and are ready for new challenges (yes, all those things in your to-do lists…I sure hope you will follow through). Remember how we thought 2030 was kingdom come? We are getting there. Fast! The days are literally flying by. Soon enough we will be out of these njaanuary manenos. Phewks!
I stumbled on this blog post and at that point, the idea of blogging about these was exciting. Now, I am not so sure. What do you think?
